Bonginkosi
Bonginkosi inherited a small home in Standerton, Mpumalanga. People set out to exploit the young man. Jealousies and misunderstandings led to his house being set alight. A newspaper inaccurately gave his age as 25. The boy is 16 years old. In January 2008 Children of Fire researcher Christopher Wilson met Bonginkosi when on an outreach project in the province.

If the youth can legally be placed with the charity for a six month period, work on restoring his quality of life can begin. We hope that the social workers will help move the process forward.

debris in Bonginkosi’s home – he is too depressed to remove it after the arson.

Bonginkosi spends most of his day in bed

Bongkinkosi needs serial splinting or a contracture release on his left arm; a contracture release on his left eyelid; he would like tissue expansion of his scalp to restore the hairline; he would like ear reconstruction; he would like the contracture of his armpit released; he would like his keloids (lumpy skin) removed.
